Newsies

How many boxes can Bon pack into the car and trailer? You will have to ask Maureen and her friend. They helped Bon pack up the wonderful donations from the Moultonborough United Methodist Church. Thank you so much!

Please check out the photo gallery for some new pictures. Bon finally got down to visit with Ann. She had 41 sweater sets made up for the layette bags! There are going to be some especially cute babies this fall dressed in very special sweaters.

After visiting Ann I bumped into her friend. She had a full bag of baby afghans to donate. When I went to that her she thanked me. She said she was happy to have something to do.

Ida is back for the summer!!! She let me take a picture of her with some of the pretty sweater sets that she had just knit. Ida volunteers through the Interlake’s Senior Center. She tells me she likes to keep busy. When she sits down in the evening her hands automatically pick up her needles and start to work. She makes sweater sets, hats, mittens, and baby afghans. Nice to have you back Ida.

Special thanks to those of you who have made memorial donations in memory of Margaret "Peggy" Ford. Peggy was Dorothy’s sister ( Bon‘s Aunt). When she was still able to sew, she was always making something for somebody. I have a very special quilt she made for me when I was little. After hearing of Peggy’s passing, many people have called or written to share a special memory they have had of Peggy’s caring way.

Jokie is closing in on the 100 afghan mark for 2008. As of this writing, she has completed 84 large afghans.

Thank you to the Meredith Altrusa Club for donating their left over yard sale items.

Silvia is still offering free knitting and crochet classes on Tuesdays at 1:00PM. This class is held at the Out of Your Attic Too at 653 Main St. in Laconia.

Thank you to The First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro for their large donation of yard sale items. Also, thank you for making a cash donation for the gas to come pick up.

Did any of you notice that "Manny," our window mannequin, was AWOL for a few days? Seems she paid a visit to Laconia High School to be a prop in the play. She came back with a new zest for life and is now considering an acting career.

For those of you that are into Bike Week, come in and check out our special rack of leather and other bike type of apparel.
