Wish List July 2008
Urgently needed items:
I know the children just got out of school. But…..our backpack project is already getting ramped up. Backpack deliveries begin on August 18th. We need all back to school items such as rulers, scissors, pencils, notebooks, crayons, markers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, and backpacks.
New or gently used books for children, newborn to 8th grade reading level, and book tote bags. These items will be for an Eagle Scout project. Please check out Eagle page for more details.
Toothpaste, any size tube
New Socks and underwear for children and adults.
Anyone got yarn? Food items (or gift cards to purchase food) for our food boxes.
Always needed items:
Your hand made hats, mittens, quilts, sweater sets, etc.
Baby hygiene products (to go into layette bags)
Disposable baby diapers and wipes
New and/or gently used baby clothing, especially newborn and small sizes
Brand new books for babies (to go into layette bags)
New socks and underwear for children and adults
Toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, (hotel sizes are welcome), bath soap
New/gently used towels any size,
New/gently used sheets all sizes
Handmade items (see below)
Cash and gift cards
People often ask me what they should make for Baby Threads. I always tell people they should make what they enjoy making. If they like to make quilts they should make quilts. If they like to make sweater sets they should make sweater sets. Every item is important and will be given to someone in need. It is our hope at Baby Threads that the things you make will bring you pleasure and not be considered a chore! For those of you who don’t have time or don’t enjoy making things please consider helping in other ways.
