Days of Sharing Clothing Giveaway

The Partners in Health Family Council sponsored their 7th annual “Days of Sharing” clothing giveaway; at the Town Hall in Lancaster on Wednesday August 22th and Thursday August 23th. The event served Coos County and the surrounding area. The number of people served totaled 1,541.
There was a large assortment of good used fall and winter clothing for the entire family, as well as, layette
bags, bedding, books, house wares, foot wear, and toys; all of which was free to those coming through the door. Each adult received a ticket at the door entitling them to four new items. The value of the items, new and used, totaled well over $15,000. The first three hundred and eighty children who expressed a need received backpacks with school supplies; all of which were provided within the first two hours of the drive.
This project’s success depends on its partners; Baby Threads of Belmont, NH, Carter’s, Citizens Bank Gear for Grades, K.I.D.’s (Kids in Distressed Situations), Passumpsic Savings Bank, Oskosh-B-Gosh, The Kid’s Place, CLIF, and the community at large; not to mention the numerous volunteers who dedicate their time to make this project a success. Without the dedication of these organizations and people it would not be possible to continue to provide this giveaway to the community.
