Days of Caring 2008
Thank you to the wonderful businesses who loaned us 9 volunteers for the United Way Day of Caring. Our volunteers arrived at Baby Threads/Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop excited and ready to help. After a brief sharing time, everyone picked out a task and went to work.
It was so fun to see so much work getting done. One group of volunteers cut out and serged 71 fleece blankets! Another group went to work in the picking area. They put together 28 layette bags, 150 hygiene kits, 30 bags of soap, and sorted many tubs of hats, scarves, mittens, and clothing. The third group tackled the "mountain". (The mountain is the place where our incoming donations get piled up.) These ladies were able to tame the mountain and get things well organized.
The work performed in one day by these 9 volunteers would normally have taken about 2 months to accomplish. Well done, thank you volunteers!
