Clothing Giveaway
The Spring 2008 Partners in Health Family Council Days of Sharing clothing giveaway, held in conjunction with Baby Threads of NH, was held at the Town Hall in Lancaster on Wednesday May 7th through Friday May 9th. This event was held to help people living in Coos County and the surrounding area. Once again this event proved to be extremely successful.
The total number of people served was 1365. There were many new items provided to families, who received a ticket at the door, entitling them to select a new item of their choice. In addition, there were many repeat volunteers, and an increase in the number of new volunteers, providing countless hours in preparing for and working during the giveaway. The increase in volunteers assisted in making a huge difference in the overall outcome of the drive.
The estimated value of donations well exceeded $50,000.00 to include; 14 new layette bags, hundreds of new baby afghans, several dozen fleece and quilted blankets, dozens of pairs of new boys pajamas, twenty new children’s bags with book, matching stuffed animal and extras, and hundreds of pieces of men’s, women’s, children’s, and infant’s clothing as well as household items and toiletries.
Many thanks to all of you who made this so successful. We have booked the week of August 18th for the Fall Days of Sharing event.
